Residents in Ryedale are continuing to make savings thanks to the power of collective energy switching. The current period of registration to take part in the scheme opened in December, with residents receiving personal offers late February 2018.
Householders are getting a better deal on their energy bills through the Council’s switching partner iChoosr. The scheme is free to use, without obligation and makes it easy for people to switch energy provider, meaning many families are able to fix their energy prices.
People can register online or call the White Rose Home Improvement Agency on 01723 232527.
When registering online people should have a recent energy bill to hand, ideally based on actual meter readings, so that they can provide details on how much energy they currently use and who they pay their bills to.
After several years of falling energy prices, the price hikes are now coming thick and fast. Households which have never switched, or at least not recently, will be hardest hit as the already high standard tariffs are going yet higher. Those in fixed term contracts are likely to pay more in a rising market but you can protect yourself from further rises by fixing your tariffs now.
It is therefore the ideal time for residents, especially those on standard tariffs, to switch and see if they can secure a good rate for the year ahead.
There is no obligation for people to accept their personal offer, but if they do it’s easy and straightforward and the new provider will take care of the whole process.
