SEND ‘Preparation for Adulthood’ Event in Hull

Young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), are invited, along with their families and carers, to attend the annual SEND Post-16 Options and Preparation for Adulthood (PFA) event.

Taking place on Wednesday 22 April, the event will be held on the ground floor of Princes Quay and will run from 10am to 5pm. Now in its fifth year, the well-established event continues to grow, offering vital information and support to help young people plan for life beyond school.

Open to young people from year 9 upwards, the event will bring together more than 40 agencies and providers from across education, health, social care and the voluntary sector. Attendees will be able to explore a wide range of post-16 education and training options, learn about supported internships, and access guidance on transitioning into adulthood.

Schools from across the city will be attending with students throughout the day, while parents, carers and young people are also encouraged to drop in at any time.

The event aims to ensure that every young person with additional needs has the opportunity to achieve their potential and move towards a happy, healthy and fulfilling adult life, with the right support in place.
