Essential road and footpath improvements are due to be carried out in Brough starting in July.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council is to invest around £300,000 to upgrade road and path surfaces in Welton Road, Brough.
Initial work is due to begin on Monday 21 July and last up to five weeks.
This part of the scheme will take place through the village from Moor Road to Cave Road with patching work and replacement of drain covers, kerb repairs and patching on the paths, before they get sealed.
The work will be carried out during daytime hours, avoiding rush hours, and temporary traffic lights will be in place.
Then the Cave Road/Station Road junction with Welton Road will be closed on the evening of Friday 8 August between 7pm and midnight in order to carry out resurfacing of the roundabout.
Following this, from around Monday 1 September, the full length of the road will be resurfaced between Moor Road and the new roundabout with Water Lane.
This will be carried out in the evening hours under a road closure and last around two weeks.
The roads will be open to traffic outside working hours.
Councillor Paul West, the council’s cabinet member for environment and transport, said: “We have tried hard to schedule this work to prevent disruption to traffic as much as possible and make sure they are completed efficiently and effectively.
“Thank you to drivers and local residents for their patience and cooperation while we carry out work to improve this road for the benefit of the community.”
The work is being carried out as part of the council’s planned highway capital programme.
