A new £2.5 million sustainable teaching facility at South Hunsley School has been officially opened.
The two-storey, state-of-the-art development spans over 743sqm, with eight modern classrooms, a reception hall, administrative offices and toilet facilities. The sustainable design maximises natural light, improves energy efficiency and ventilation. It supports the school’s long-term biodiversity net gain and environmental goals.
Michaela Blackledge, Headteacher of South Hunsley School said: “There is no doubt that a building like this will inspire students and staff. Students have been involved with different aspects of the build from visiting the site to speaking to the architect, and have learnt what goes in to designing and building.
“Teaching staff from the English department have begun moving in and they are overjoyed by the new teaching facility. We cannot wait for students to study English in our new Ferriby building!”
