Hull Fair returns on Friday 10th October.
Humberside Police Officers, PCSOs and Special Constables will be in attendance working alongside stewards for Hull City Council.
Superintendent Sharon Philpott said: “It’s great to welcome Hull Fair back to the city for another year. We are working hard with Hull City Council and supporting the Showmen’s Guild to ensure everyone has a fantastic time.
“Hull Fair is one of the largest fairs in Europe and has been a part our history for many years. I have many enjoyable childhood memories of it! It is a great event for family and friends across our communities and welcomes visitors from afar.
“Our teams will be at the fair every day to make sure that both visitors and workers feel safe throughout the week. We will be happy to chat with you, even if it’s just to tell us which is the best ride!
“Whilst we want everyone who visits the fair to have an enjoyable time, I want to make it clear that those who come and commit crime or antisocial behaviour will be dealt with robustly by my teams to ensure that everyone else enjoys their time at the fair.
“If you have any concerns about anything you see at the event, please come and speak with the Hull City Council stewards or any of the police officers who will be on the podiums as they are every year.

Humberside Police have offered tips and advice to help you stay safe:
- Leave any valuables such as tablets, jewellery and credit cards at home. Only take with you what you absolutely need and remember to lock all windows and doors before you leave your home and car.
- Consider using one of the park and ride services if possible.
- If you are driving, park in a well-lit, busy area.
- Try to keep together, but agree on a pre-arranged meeting place should you become separated from friends or family.
- Consider wearing clothes that have pockets with zips to keep your money and mobile phones secure.
- If you are taking small children to the fair, take a photo of them beforehand so we can see exactly what they are wearing should they go missing.
- Write your contact details on a piece of paper and put it in the pocket of the children that whom you are with so we can get in touch if we find them.
- Just in case you need them, make sure you are familiar with the location of first aid, the police and the lost/found children offices.
If you see anything suspicious, immediately report it to a police officer, police community support officer, steward or fairground staff.
