Any excess waste can be taken to one of the city’s three household waste and recycling centres (HWRC) where many unwanted items can also be donated for sale in Reuse shops

Real Christmas trees can be recycled by being chopped up and put in the brown bin, or taken whole to your nearest HWRC at Burma Drive, Sutton Fields and Wiltshire Road.

Hull’s household waste and recycling centres will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day and will be open from 10am to 4pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

At all other times, the centres are open from 10am to 5pm, seven days a week.
