A FIRE ravaged building can be restored and re-used after plans were approved by Bradford Council.
The storage warehouse on Annison Street was destroyed by fire in January 2021, leaving the building as an empty shell.
It was one of the biggest fires of the year – with over 78 firefighters needed to bring it under control.
The cause was said to be an electrical fault.
Earlier this year a planning application to restore the building was submitted to Bradford Council by Hardeep Singh Saini.
As well as repairing the existing ground floor and re-building the first floor, there will also be additional first floor space over a sections of the building that was previously only one storey high.
The building would once again be used for storage.
Planning officers have now approved the building’s renovation.
They said: “Restoring the building from its current state will see a marked improvement in terms of visual amenity both the host property and wider street scene.”
