David Tite Takes on New Role at Yorkshire Agricultural Society

In an exciting development for the agricultural community, David Tite, the CEO of the Driffield Agricultural Society, is set to embark on a new journey after this year’s Driffield Show. Tite will assume the role of Society Manager at the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, the organisers of the Great Yorkshire Show.

Tite will step into his new position following the departure of Mark Stoddart, who will move on to become the Secretary of the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association. Tite joins a dynamic leadership team that includes CEO Allister Nixon and newly appointed Show Director Rachel Coates. Together, they aim to ensure that the Great Yorkshire Show continues to captivate visitors and maintain its prestigious status on the national events calendar. Additionally, Tite will collaborate with Nixon on innovative initiatives to propel the Yorkshire Agricultural Society forward.

Reflecting on his new role, Tite expressed his enthusiasm: “This is a fantastic next step for me and whilst I’m saddened to leave Driffield, this was an opportunity not to be missed. I’m looking forward to joining a great team and working on the Great Yorkshire Show amongst the other events held on the Showground.”

Tite’s journey with the Driffield Showground spans over three decades, beginning at the age of 13 when he started out by clearing the site. His extensive experience and deep-rooted passion for agricultural shows have earned him great respect within the community.

Allister Nixon, CEO of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, praised both Tite and Stoddart for their contributions to the industry: “Mark and David are hugely passionate about the agricultural show industry, having both been past National Chairs of the Association of Show and Agricultural Organisations (ASAO). We thank Mark for his passion and commitment to the Yorkshire Agricultural Society and the Great Yorkshire Show over the last 20 years and we are delighted to welcome David with his wealth of show experience from another highly respected agricultural society.”

Both Tite and Stoddart will remain dedicated to delivering their respective shows this year, with the Great Yorkshire Show scheduled from Tuesday, July 9 to Friday, July 12, and the Driffield Show on Wednesday, July 17. Their continued dedication ensures a seamless transition and a promising future for both events.

David Tite’s move marks a new chapter of growth and innovation for the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, promising an exciting future for the Great Yorkshire Show and the agricultural community at large.
