Emergency carriageway resurfacing begins on Monday 10th November at the Brighton Street roundabout, beneath the A63 – near St Andrews Quay Retail Park.
The scheme will address urgent repairs required on the carriageway and assist National Highways, who need to use the area for an upcoming diversion.
The work will involve removing the damaged road surface and laying a new one, to improve grip and skid resistance.
Work is expected to take a maximum of five nights to complete – weather permitting.
A phased road closure, with subsequent traffic management and diversion routes, will be in place overnight from 7pm to 6am. The diversion route will be clearly signposted and distinctly separate from those for the ongoing A63 Castle Street improvements.
Traffic from Brighton Street will be redirected via Daltry Street roundabout to head east on the A63 and reach St Andrews Quay. Road users leaving St Andrews Quay for Hessle Road will be diverted to Priory Way, then back along the A63 westbound to Brighton Street.
Local residents and businesses will be notified in advance, and information boards are already in place around the roundabout.
