Police and Crime Commissioner Jonathan Evison has opened an online consultation to gather public views on the relocation of Beverley Police Station from New Walk to what will be a dedicated office in County Hall.
Commissioner Evison said “One of my key aims as Police and Crime Commissioner is to ensure visible neighbourhood policing accessible to all communities. As part of this, I am proposing to relocate Beverley Police Station from its current site on New Walk to County Hall in the centre of Beverley. I want to create somewhere that is more visible and accessible for local people to visit. The relocation will assist partnership working with the local council and NHS colleagues that have recently taken premises on site.”
As part of the relocation, partnership working is taking place with local MPs and Councillors, as well as colleagues from Humberside Police. The survey is hosted on My Community Alert and takes less than 5 minutes to complete.
Jonathan Evison continued “I want to hear about what’s important to you, whether that be creating an easily accessible building, how you can get there by public transport, whether you want space to speak in private to the police, or if 24/7 access is your priority for example.”
