A major redevelopment of the gym at East Riding Leisure Centre Hornsea inside Hornsea Hub will go ahead in August.
The £250,000 investment will see 55 new pieces of equipment installed, including an ascent trainer, glute trainer and leg presses. The works will also include a redecoration of the gym.
The gym will be closed for one week, from 6pm on Sunday 11 to Thursday 15 August. Works permitting, the gym will reopen on Friday 16th August.
While the gym is closed there will be additional spin, circuit and BodyPump classes taking place inside East Riding Leisure Hornsea. Members are also welcome to use any of the gyms at the other East Riding Leisure centres, as part of their membership.
Other facilities in the Hornsea Hub, such as the café, library, and swimming pool, will be open as normal.
Councillor Nick Coultish, cabinet member for culture, leisure and tourism at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said “I’m delighted that we are making these fantastic improvements at East Riding Leisure Hornsea. This will provide top of the range equipment and more ways for members to keep fit.
