Humberside Police promise additional presence following Manchester terror attack

Humberside Police have promised additional police presence over the coming days following the Manchester terror attack.

The force said:

“We understand this incident will cause concern and worry in our local communities, so over the coming days we will have an additional police presence to offer visibility and reassurance.

Our thoughts are with the victims’ families, and everyone impacted following today’s events and we recognise the direct impact on the wider Jewish community and those in other communities who may be feeling particularly vulnerable.”

The Leader of Hull City Council, Councillor Mike Ross, also issued a statement:

“I am horrified by the incident that has taken place in Manchester.

“This attack is all the more shocking, taking place on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.

“My thoughts and prayers are with anyone affected by this appalling incident, including our Jewish community here in Hull.

“There is no place for hate in any form in our society and we condemn those who carry out these vile acts.”
