Hull City Council will begin overnight carriageway improvement works on Priory Way next week.
In response to feedback from residents and motorists, the council will be completing carriageway resurfacing and road marking upgrades on Priory Way, from the junction with Saxon Way to the top of the A63 westbound exit slip road.
The works are scheduled to take place overnight from Tuesday 26 August to Friday 29 August – weather permitting.
To ensure the safety of both workers and road users, the works will be carried out under a full road closure, between 8pm and 6am, with a signed diversion route in place.
The intention of the scheme is to renew the deteriorated areas of carriageway, to ensure it provides a safe, smooth and skid-resistant route for all traffic.
Councillor Mark Ieronimo, cabinet portfolio holder for transport and infrastructure at Hull City Council, said: “We know how important Priory Way is for keeping Hull moving, especially as a key link to the A63.
“These essential improvements will not only make journeys smoother and safer for motorists, but also support our wider efforts to maintain a high-quality road network across the city.
“By carrying out the work overnight and during the school holidays, we’re doing everything we can to keep disruption to a minimum.
