There will be roadworks at the junction of Queens Road and Princes Avenue from next week.
Northern Gas Networks are doing asset maintenance works, while Hull City Council are resurfacing.
The works will run from Monday 7 April and should be completed by Friday 16 May, weather permitting.
For the safety of the public, and the construction staff on-site, these works will be carried out under a single road closure at the junction of Queens Road and Princes Avenue. To facilitate this, a signed diversion route will be in place via Beverley Road.
Temporary traffic signals will be operational at the junction of Princes Avenue and Queens Road (towards Newland Avenue) to manage traffic flow.
Access will be maintained for residents, schools, and local businesses throughout the duration of the works. However, from Tuesday 6 May to Friday 16 May, access to and from Princes Road will be available only via De Grey Street, with the one-way system temporarily suspended.
These works are part of a wider investment project aimed at improving Hull’s highway infrastructure and ensuring the safety and reliability of essential services in the area.
Gillian Osgerby, interim assistant director for major projects and infrastructure at Hull City Council, said: “Improving the condition of our road network is a key priority for us as a council, to ensure all carriageways remain safe and reliable for all users.
“By coordinating with Northern Gas Networks, we aim to minimise disruption and complete these essential improvements efficiently.
“We thank local residents and businesses in advance for their patience as we work to enhance the highway infrastructure in this area of Hull.”
Chris Keith, operations manager at Northern Gas Networks, said: “We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during these essential works. However, it’s vital we complete them in order to continue to maintain a safe and reliable gas supply to the residents of Hull.
“We’ve worked very closely with Hull City Council on this project, and it’s another example of how we’re always looking to collaborate with local stakeholders to minimise disruption to our customers and the local community.”
