Bradford District’s annual spring clean has started.
The Great Bradford Spring Clean aims to improve the local environment and foster a sense of civic pride.
To mark Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture people are being asked to do ’25 for 25’ – 25 minutes of litter-picking.
Over 100 primary schools have so far signed up to get involved in the Great Bradford Spring Clean in a multitude of ways donning hi-vis tabards and gloves and spending a minimum of 25 minutes picking up litter, entering a poster competition as well as games and activities around the theme of recycling.
The Spring Clean will run until Saturday 6 April.
Cllr Sarah Ferriby, Portfolio Holder for Healthy People and Places, said: “This is a great opportunity to get involved in a community event to make our streets cleaner and more attractive. We always have great support for our Spring Clean so I am sure it will also get a great response this year too.”
Residents, local business, schools and community groups are being asked to come together to help make a positive impact in their neighbourhood while working together to protect the environment. School children are being provided with Bradford 2025-branded litter pickers, tabards and gloves.
