Your chance to meet Hull’s Lord Mayor

The annual Mayor at Home event will be taking place later this month giving people the chance to meet Hull’s Lord Mayor.

The free to attend event will be taking place on October 19th from 10:30am to midday in the Banquet Hall at Hull’s Guildhall.

The Lord Mayor, Councillor Mark Collinson will be joined by the Lady Mayoress, Councillor Christine Randall in sharing tea and cakes with the attendees.

Despite tickets being free, there will be opportunities to raise money for the Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal Fund including the chance to buy plants from the traditional displays.

The Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal Fund raises money for organisations chosen by the Lord Mayor. The proceeds from this event will go to Hull and East Yorkshire Children’s University and Cruse Bereavement Support.

The Lord Mayor has expressed his excitement for this year’s event, saying: “This is a nice opportunity to see the Guildhall interior, meet the Lady Mayoress and myself, sample the food, and pick up some plants.

“We’ve had to do the event later than usual this year because of the General Election in the summer, so the plant displays will be a bit different from usual, but should still be very impressive.”
