Pass the Fat Rascals! Harrogate has been voted the third happiest place to live in the UK.

Rightmove’s annual Happy at Home Index shows that Hexham in Northumberland has again been crowned happiest place to live in Great Britain. Richmond upon Thames takes silver, whilst Harrogate finishes in third. Stirling is this year’s happiest place in Scotland, while Llandrindod Wells, fifth place overall, is the happiest place to live in Wales.

Factors taken into consideration include a sense of belonging, access to green spaces and how polite people are.

Harrogate previously topped the "Happy At Home" index in 2015. 21,000 people were surveyed to come up with this year's findings.

The average house price in Harrogate is £353,624.
