People in Ryedale looking for a job, or to change jobs can find out more about hundreds on offer in the district at the Ryedale job fair.

Ryedale District Council has teamed up with the Job Centre to run a Ryedale job fair at Ryedale House in Malton on 3 November from 10am until 2pm.

The fair is the first step towards the Government’s vision of a Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) community hub and the chance for citizens in Ryedale to seize the many opportunities on offer.

The employers attending the job fair have over 400 job vacancies on offer covering a range of sectors including:

  • Engineers
  • Production Operatives
  • Housekeepers
  • Bakery Staff
  • Retail
  • Maintenance Staff
  • Welders/Fabricators
  • Carers
  • Trainee Butchers
  • Business Development

The range of job roles also cover full time, part time and suitable family friendly working hours. Citizens interested in apprenticeship opportunities can also find out what’s on offer for them.

Phillip Spurr, Programme Director of Place and Resources for Ryedale District Council, said:

“Ryedale is a great place to live, work and visit. It’s our vision that Ryedale has a strong economy, with world-class assets and new jobs linked to growth including engineering, manufacturing, bio-renewables, food, farming, and visitor economy and carbon reduction technologies. The job fair we’re holding is a step in the right direction towards that vision. It’s also a great opportunity for anyone in the district looking for work, or to change jobs to come and find out what’s on offer and to chat to the employers recruiting.”

Also in attendance will be North Yorkshire County Council’s Adult Learning and Skills, Access to Work and a Department of Work and Pensions, Disability Employment Advisor.
