Ofwat said on Tuesday that the company, which has suffered a series of supply interruptions, would have to foot the bill for its shortcomings rather than place the burden on long-suffering household bills.
The penalty comes on top of a £22m slap on the wrist it received in March for water supply failures in Kent and Sussex between 2020 and 2023, which affected more than 286,000 people.
The watchdog said its latest enforcement action covered further such incidents between November 2025 and January 2026, another supply resilience investigation and a probe into compliance with the conditions of its licence.
