Suspect appears in court charged with murder of Larkhall man Iain Kennedy

Iain Kennedy, 32, was found seriously injured after emergency crews were called to a property in Larkhall’s Fairholm Street at about 10pm on Saturday.

Mr Kennedy, from Larkhall, was taken to Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he later died.

In a statement released through Police Scotland, his family said: “Iain was a much-loved brother, son and friend.

“He will be missed by all who knew him and we would ask that we are given privacy to come to terms with our loss at this time.”

Jordan Muir, 27, was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

Muir made no plea to the murder charge when he appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.

He has also been accused of a number of other offences, including assaulting and resisting police.

Muir, of Larkhall, was remanded in custody and is due back in the dock within the next week.
